I paid to have my fiction book published by a company who operate on the internet. Trouble is, the book has started to do rather well on internet booksites, but no bookseller will tell me how many copies I have sold. I am about to go to a soliciter, but surely there must be some authority who oversee that people are not ripped of on the internet. I tried offcom, they couldnt help, I tried the CAB, they said forget it. I can’t! I paid alot of money, it looks like alot of royalties are being generated which I cant recieve. The company is contracted to pay me 20% royalties. I am approaching legal action carefully, trying to gather evidence, I cant afford legal bills unless it is done on a no win, no fee basis. Surely there is a body who protects and acts on behalf of the internet user. Oh, I have also been to the trading standards, but they say this is a business matter, not a consumer one. I would say its a combi of a business/consumer matter. Please help! I am depressed andesperate.
