My laptop shuts down without warning, sometimes before I open mail or explorer, sometimes after 5 minutes. I run Vista, no viruses show up after a thorough scan, the only “new” programme I have installed is an Adobe Flash player update. There is plenty of memory available. I have gone into the repair mode (F8) but it shows nothing, does anyone have any ideas? I am running it on Wifi, my PC works fine which I assume eliminates the router. This is a very recent problem and I have no new electrical goods near the laptop which could affect the performance. It is impossible to even read mail in normal mode. There wasn?t very much dirt at all (much to my surprise) but it was very hot. I am now running in normal mode so hopefully this is the cause of the problem.
