it wont sinc with my PC, i plug the USB connection in and nothing happens, it used to say something about not recognising the device, now it doesn’t even register that it is connected. Can someone point me in the direction of a website which will help. Itunes/apple website is incredibly unhelpful, all they want is my debit card details, which I don’t have so I can’t become a member. Or can someone tell me of a place in north east england that can repair them! thank-you
I have an iPod classic 6th Gen.
I’ve tried reformatting it a number of times, i’ve tried using alternatives to itunes (my ipod freezes all of them), i’ve tried it on different computers (both PC and Mac) and it does the same thing on all of them.
Also, when i run iPod diagnostics, it doesn’t have the option to scan the HD, which apparently it should have.
Any ideas? or do i need a repair?

thanks guys, but it’s not a computor issue. . . it managed to crash the computors in the apple store aswell
and i’m out of warentee. . and they told me on the phone that repair would cost £90. . . replacements arn’t far off that!

I have an 80 gig iPod classic. It has run pretty smoothly until very recently. When I tried to sync it, it wouldn’t connect to my PC, and when I tried it several times, the PC eventually told me that the iPod was corrupt.
Since then, every time i try to sync it, the iPod syncs around 350 of my 800-ish songs, then tells me that the iPod cannot sync and tells me that an erro has occured. These are always numbers in braquets, like (-69). There have been around ten different numbers.
Is it beyond repair? Please help!!

I recently bought an ipod 160gb from my son because he’s getting a new ipod touch and I’ve got thousands of songs. When I tried to sync it it would only copy a few of the songs. I have restored it a few times to no avail. Also when i connect it to the pc a message comes up asking if I want to scan the ipod disk and repair any problems. . i have done this a few times but it doesn’t make any difference. I have never had any problems with any of my previous pods. By the way the ipod does work as far as listening to songs etc. . . any help will be greatly appreciated Thanks!!!

I have an ipod nano 8gb and i had itunes once and i synced ma Ipod to it. My once ‘broke’ and i got it repaired at pc World and they had to reboot my whole computer. I got itunes back again but this time if i try to sync ma ipod to the itunes it goes @ if you sync to this itunes all songs will be deleted’ i then clicked on that little box that’s there which says ‘ manually arrange songs and stuff’ So now ma ipod is not synced but when i delete songs/ albums the memory on the ipod doesn’t increase and i cant new song because it says memories full.
Please help me i dnt wanna lose my songs.

The whole screen cracked from a little amount of pressure and i think the LCD screen in them is destroyed beyond repair. The ipod remarkably still functions but only when its connected to a PC or audio system with a USB socket available for external music sources.
I really want to be able to get it fixed as its useless without the screen really.
