I live in Hull and we have our own independant phone company. I have a router and earlier on my connection kept dropping so I rang them up and they tried blaming it on an extension lead. They advised me to take the extension lead out, move the computer downstairs into another phone socket and ring back so they could check the line again as if they were called out without checking both sockets they would charge me for repairs. I thought ‘i arent messing about like that’ so I rang them back half an hour later and said ‘yes i have moved the pc blah de blah’ and they say ‘ooh yes thats a much better connection and you are even getting a faster speed’ ??? I hadnt even moved the bloody thing.

Why dont companies just admit they are at fault instead of trying to blame us all the time.

how do i connect my laptop to the wireless internet,

i have done this before, but my laptop got sent away for repairs, and had been re-formatted, and to make things worse, my dad had bought a new desktop pc yesterday,

so anyway, i we installed the wireless router on the new desktop, and it seems ok, because it connects to the internet perfectly, but i cant pick the router up on my laptop, what should i do to get it working again, i need it the laptop for college purposes such as assignment’s and so on.

the router is a belking 54g, i know, a s***ty router yes, and my laptop is a fujitsu-seimens amilo something. . =\

Help! this is driving me nuts!!
My laptop connected wirelessly to the bt hub with no problems for weeks
then suddenly, I cannot get on the internet
I know the BT hub is not at fault (the pc works perfectly)
and my lapton SAYS I am connected
yet despite this I cannot get IE to load it says there is a connection problem
whatever I try doesnt work
I have tried system restore – that didnt help
I have tried clicking on repair but that hasnt helped
what else can I try to do to fix it???

i have a wireless connection and my home pc is connected fine to it, i bought a laptop a few months ago and i had some trouble with the key, from what i remember i set it as my name and my computer is telling me it’s a “Network Key (WEP/WPA Key)” – and it has my name behind it. my laptop has been away on repair and now it won’t connect, i have entered my key but it’s not working! my laptop is saying: it needs a security key and when i type in my key it says ‘possible security key mismatch’ asking me to type it again

can anyone help?
im not good at technical stuff
ive tried all codes from the bottom of the router, it now says ‘limited acces’ and that im connected to a public network but it still won’t work. everytime i type in the key im sure it is, it does a little searching thing for a few seconds then tells me its invalid, when i type in other codes it tells me their invalid straight away :/!

I have tried three different routers but all the same problem. I have 2 laptops, 1 PC and 1 Xbox connected to my router but all having the same problem. It says I am connected to the internet and that my signal is excellent but everytime I try to get onto the internet the same thing happens on all my computers it just says Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. Sometimes days go by and it is fine then it just goes off and can be like that for anything between 15 mins and a day then it just comes back on again. I have tried to repair the wireless networkconnection and it says it is now connected again but when I try again to get onto the internet is is the same thing. So anyone know what the problem could be here?
