first hear this out right. . .
yes he was convicted twice but he could have been set up and if he was convicted once it is likely he would be convicted again already having a record for it.
Firstly let me mention John Lennon. he was shot by a freak you thought he would gain Lennon’s fame. If someone could do that then surely someone who was jealous of glitter could have st him up.
secondly the reason it was “discovered” in the first place is he took in his laptop for repairs in 1997 to a PC WORLD. now my dad had trouble with his computer it wouldn’t work and they said the could fix it. so he took it in for repairs only a month after Glitter had his fixed. glitters were minor fixing my dads was major. (I know this about glitter as the time of the court hearing someone from PC world who served him said so) when my dad went there they said to him If there is anything important on your laptop save it to a disk. also they said this is something we tell everyone as sometimes in the fixing process some of your data could be permanently lost and they must check it is all there by viewing it all. my dad said he couldn’t even get on there so he didn’t care.
why is this important you may ask? the fact the tell you that stuff might be lost if its important save it.
if glitter intentionally had child porn on his laptop the only way he could forget is if it was say 10 pictures. well it wasn’t it was supposedly 4,000 – 6,000. Who could forget about that many. also he would have been told they have to check everything is there. therefore he would have known that they would look at what he had saved therefore knowing people would see his child porn stash. so if he knew he would have took it back in a few days after removing it but he didn’t so obviously did not know it was there.
how would it get there you may ask?
well a few things I could think of.
1/he let a “friend” access his laptop and they downloaded it, either deliberately to set him up.
2/or the person in the shop could have had a grudge against him like say they were jealous so in the process of fixing it they could have done the same.
3/a crazy fan set him up in the same way John Lennon died. It could have been to blacken his name, or to blackmail him
if it was the latter he could have just said I am innocent so they will believe me.

for your information back in 2008 gary glitter was spotted and proven to be living in a village called hill head, in fareham, England. I live in the same town but a different Village. . . before being found guilty of this in 1997 glitter was living in a town called gosport. 5 miles from fareham, he lived in the marina in his boat. That is the town I was born in and grew up in. 
now to finish off after reading that do you believe he is innocent, guilty or unsure and let me know how you felt before. . .
Also glitter wants to right a book to prove his innocents. If he is guilty why would he do that?
not in love with him its just unfair how normal no celeb it is innocent until proven guilty, but with glitter it was guilty until proven innocent tats how the media made out.
If he is tast terrible why in the 70′s and 80′s and early 90′s he was a hugh star? that is your opinnion not fact. I dont care what detective think as they seriously over looked a important fact that could have made him innocent.
ps gaga’s outfits are ALL or mostly inspired by the way gary glitter dressed. so haha to gaga fans because she is not as unique as you think.
if only I was I’d then get half a million pounds or three quarters of a million dollars a year in royalties. now that sounds good.
